My first
Went so badly
Six horses died,
One explosively.
Bits of him
Flew through the air
Over open-mouthed
Spectators
Who had come for
A nice day out:
A hoof concussed
A retired nurse
A soccer mom
Choked on his spleen.
So, no - this rodeo
Ain’t my first
But that’s surely
Of limited comfort.
