And Scene
I miss our rom-com back-and-forth:
The flirty quips, the coy replies!
Like the time I said “I love you,”
And you began to cry.
Like Benedick with his Beatrice,
Like Bonnie with her Clyde:
I heard me say “I love you,”
And watched me watch you as you cried.
Hello,
Thanks for reading, I’m very grateful to be able to share these writings with you. I was going to call this one “Iris Wipe” but realised I wasn’t sure how commonly known that term is. An Iris Wipe is a old-fashioned feeling movie effect, where a circle narrows over the screen, framing, say, a couple as they walk off into the sunset, before narrowing to nothing. Maybe everyone knows that, in which case sorry for the explanation, but I was a bit concerned it would be read as the name of a person: Iris Wipe.
I quite like the idea of a person named Iris Wipe. I’ll let you fill in her backstory, I don’t know if she’s a cleaner or an IT professional.
Feedback is, as ever, apprieciated, and if you’re enjoying them, sharing them is appreciated too. I’m still working to find the edges of what sort of thing I can send out here, but hoping to keep it as broad a space as possible, while still keeping an identity.
Take care of yourselves,
John-Luke
